As part of the NSW Government’s commitment to build 100 public preschools by Term 1 2027, Bourke Public School has been selected to receive a new purpose-built facility for our Early Years Transition Centre.
Bourke Public School Early Years Transition Centre (Bourke Public School EYTC) will soon welcome families into our new purpose-built facilities.
Bourke Public School EYTC is a valued part of our school, providing children with the best start in life and early learning. Our new facilities will provide children with a supportive, inclusive and play-based learning environment.
Expressions of interest to enrol at Bourke Public School EYTC are now open!
Families who would like to enrol their child in Bourke Public School EYTC can submit a completed Expression of interest to enrol in a NSW public preschool form to our school office. Printed copies of the form are also available from the office.
At Bourke Public School EYTC, children explore, ask questions and learn through play. Our experienced staff support children to have a positive transition into Kindergarten. We look forward to welcoming you and your child.

Bourke Public School EYTC will operate Monday to Thursday.
Our opening hours are the same as our whole school from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm during the school term. Bourke Public School EYTC will not be open during school and public holidays.
We have one EYTC class, catering for up to 20 children per day.
Attendance patterns
Bourke Public School EYTC offers 2 days of attendance to all children (Monday- Tuesday or Wednesday- Thursday) during school terms. This ensures children can access other early childhood services on alternate days.
Please contact the school office for information about Bourke Public School EYTC class attendance patterns and to discuss your child’s needs. We will accommodate your attendance preference in our enrolment planning.
Bourke Public School EYTC enrols children for one year only, in the year before they start school. Children can enrol from the beginning of the school year if they turn 4 years of age before 31 July that year.
Children do not need to live in Bourke Public School’s local enrolment intake area (catchment area) to apply. If the number of applications exceeds the number of available places, enrolments will be prioritised in accordance with the Public Preschool Enrolment Procedure.

Bourke Public School EYTC is an approved early learning service operating under the National Quality Framework. We operate under the same Approved Provider as NSW Public Preschools. NSW Public Preschools are some of the highest performing early learning services in Australia with a strong commitment to child safety.
Bourke Public School EYTC provides a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment where children feel supported to learn, grow and thrive.
We maintain a child to staff ratio of 10:1. Each class is staffed with a university-trained early childhood teacher (ECT) and a trained School Learning Support Officer (SLSO) to ensure delivery of high-quality early learning.
Our learning program provides age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences guided by the Early Years Learning Framework.
We regularly review our policies and procedures to provide a safe, inclusive and high-quality learning environment for all children.
